Dumpster Diving

I love a deal and there is no better deal than free! I have been known to drive through my neighborhood in the predawn hours on big trash day. I found this chair on one of these drives.
The chair's binding had to be reglued before it could be painted. I made it a new cushion and a pillow! I LOVE FREE!

To celebrate my new blog and to thank all of those who have visited so far, I am having my first monthly give away.  This beautiful, hand made, repurposed work of art can be yours. It can be used as a cross, jewelry tree, rack for hand towels or a million other things.  Simply leave a comment between now and Friday, April 19th on the blog and I will scientifically and randomly choose a winner that I will announce with a post on Saturday, April 20th.  You must have a mailing address within the continental United States to win.

Flea Market Find

This is my latest flea market find.  I am totally in love with it.
I have no idea what I am going to use it for.  Right now it is in the middle of the living room and I am waiting for it to tell me what it wants to be.  I am thinking about putting a hook on it and using it on the front porch as a sign/wreath holder.  The possibilities are endless.  The good news is it is a great size, 48 inches tall and very sturdy.  The best news of all is it only cost $5.

To make these crosses I used
left over pieces of spindles and
wood from other projects.
I put them together with double
sided screws and glue.
I liked the look of them unpainted
but did not know if anyone else
would "get it".
I originally made them to be crosses
to be displayed in a grouping of
candlesticks on my hearth.
They are also excellent jewelry
holders.

I think that they could also be used to hold jewelry or hand towels.
This is the cross primed and ready to paint.

Lately I have been obsessed with repurposing. This is  a cross I  created mostly from spindles I got at the Restore.

One of the finished products!
